For Parents & Educators

Whether you’re at home, in a classroom, or on a therapy team, the Hey Jimmy series is designed to support connection, communication, and joyful learning for children with diverse abilities.

Jimmy is inspired by real children who experience the world in unique ways—children who use sign language, gestures, PECs, or songs to express themselves. These books help readers of all abilities feel seen, understood, and celebrated.

They’re not just fun stories—they’re a tool for sparking conversation, modeling inclusive attitudes, and celebrating neurodiversity.

  • Read aloud with siblings
  • Color printables together
  • Talk about feelings + friendships
  • Use storytime to introduce inclusion
  • Encourage kids to draw their own stories
  • Start a sock-matching classroom challenge
  • Pair story with movement, music, or PECs
  • Reinforce communication methods (e.g. signing socks)
  • Use Jimmy’s gestures as prompts for activity

Every Hey Jimmy book will come with printable characters and key story settings—designed to bring the story off the page and into kids’ hands. Whether it’s a sock, a swing, Buddy the Bear, or Jimmy himself, these printables are made to be turned into puppets, props, and play scenes using materials like craft sticks, paper, felt, or imagination.

The goal? To help kids retell Jimmy’s adventures—or invent their own. These tools support language development, emotional expression, and inclusive storytelling, whether used at home, in the classroom, or in therapy. Because every child deserves to be the author of their own world.

Coming Soon! While the first printable pack won’t be available on launch day, it’s on the way. We’re working hard to make sure each set is as joyful and useful as the stories themselves. Keep an eye out—you’ll be the first to know when they arrive!
